The World Is Just a Book Away is founded on the core belief that education breaks the cycle of poverty and promotes peace around the world. It provides children with hope through books and education in its libraries and reading rooms, empowering them to change their own lives and the world at large. It works in developing countries where it can make a major impact and where children can also leverage their knowledge by partnering with local communities to better the lives of their fellow citizens.
Rey Foundation President Nat Scrimshaw will be visiting and Chalk Talking at The World is Just a Book Away libraries in Indonesia during his New Adventures of Whiteblack the Penguin tour of Southeast Asia and Oceania. These libraries and the stories of the people and environment of the region will be featured in the book series associated with the New Adventures of Whiteblack the Penguin.
